The control system of petrol engines of car Focus works, with rare exception, to similarly power-plant Ford Fiesta 1996 modelling years. Further in a management the description basically the new or changed components is resulted. New units arrive without system рециркуляции the fulfilled gases (EGR).
The management block power unit EEC-V with 60 contacts operates engines Zetec-SE/E. The engine of 1,6 l Zetec with an automatic transmission 4F27E block EEC-V (104 contacts) operates. The management block will co-ordinate the work with the block of management of ignition (ICM) and an electronic control system of traction effort (PATS). The management block (РСМ) provides with the data the onboard computer.

The detonation gauge (KS). Because of high degree of compression (11:1) engines Zetec-SE are equipped by detonation gauges (fig. 199). The gauge will tighten directly to the block of cylinders. The gauge signals the management block (PSM) about uncontrollable burning. The block of management PCM reduces a corner of an advancing of ignition in cylinders where there is a detonation on 15 °. If it is not enough of it, the management block the power unit reduces a corner of an advancing of ignition while burning does not become normal. After two seconds without detonation sounds block RSM regulates a corner of an advancing of ignition to border of a detonation or, at normal quality of fuel, to the set corner of an advancing of ignition.

The gauge of temperature of a head of the block (СНТ) - is established directly on a block head (fig. 200). It has replaced the old gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid (EATS), which was used in control systems earlier. Gauge SNT directly participates in heat exchange with a block head, it works irrespective of a cooling liquid. Its signals influence on:
- Quantity of injected fuel;
- Adjustment of rotation of a cranked shaft idling (IAC);
- Installation of the moment of ignition;
- System of catching of steams of fuel (ЕVAP);
- On inclusion of the electric motor of the fan of system of cooling;
- Temperature indications on a combination of devices;
- Alarm lamp of an overheat of the engine on a combination of devices.
